| OSchange 1.0 | Now you can run two copies of Windows on the same harddrive without partitions! Use this setup to gracefully move to a fresh install of the latest version! This way you can move all of your contacts, address book, and favorites as you need them. Scenario:The first step is to install both copies of Windows. This can be Win95, Win98 or WinME! The most important detail is to install them to different directories. (They can be on the same drive.) For Example c:\Win95, C:\Win98 or C:\WinMe. Then using the OSChange program you can set each OS to boot into the other one. Example:I have Win98 currently installed (C:\Windows) and wanted to test WinME to see if it would do what I wanted and support all the software that I wanted to use etc. Well upon installation (to C:\WinMe) I found that WinME didn't support my DVD decoder card! What no DVD movies anymore! We cant have this! Installation The computer now defaults to boot into C:\WinMe. 1. So run the OSChange installation program and install it. What you should then have is a programs group that has two programs and this readme. 2. Run the SetPath program first and select the directory of your win98 installation. ( In my case this was C:\Windows) 3. Then when you need to restart in the other OS select the program called 'OSChange' that is at the bottom of the programs menu. This will restart your computer into Win98 |
